Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 1, 2026

SplitParent respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

Information We Collect

When you create and use a SplitParent account, we may collect:

• Name and email address
• Family member information
• Child profile information (such as name, date of birth, and notes)
• Parent-provided caregiving and medical information for children (for example allergies, medications, Medicare or insurance details, clinician contacts, and emergency contacts), when you choose to enter it
• Messages sent within the app (messages are shared with your co-parent and kept as a family record)
• Uploaded photos, documents, receipts, and payment proof images
• Expenses and shared cost-allocation records
• Calendar, custody schedule, and related reminder preferences
• Co-parenting Agreements (including drafts, version history, comments, in-app acceptance or signature records, PDFs, attachments, review reminders, and activity history)
• Activity reports and exports you generate
• Device type, app version, and basic usage data
• Push notification tokens (to deliver alerts you enable)
• Subscription and entitlement status associated with your account (managed via the App Store / Google Play and our subscription provider)
• Legal acceptance metadata when you create an account (for example timestamps acknowledging the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy)

We collect information:

• Directly from you when you enter it into the app
• Automatically through your use of the app
• Through secure third-party services required to operate the app

How We Use Information

Your information is used to:

• Provide co-parenting organisation tools within the app
• Synchronise information between authorised family members
• Generate timelines, reports, and exports you request
• Maintain communication and activity records you create
• Deliver optional push notifications and local reminders you enable
• Process optional AI-assisted wording suggestions
• Manage subscriptions and feature access
• Improve functionality and performance, and provide customer support

Agreements

Agreements help families create and organise co-parenting arrangements. Agreement content, version history, comments, PDFs, attachments, and in-app acceptance records are stored with your family data and visible to authorised family members. Agreements are organisational tools for record-keeping. They are not legal advice and are not automatically legally binding unless applicable law provides otherwise.

If one parent deletes their account, shared Agreements and related history may remain available to remaining family members so their records stay intact. The deleted parent’s profile may be shown as no longer active.

Medical and caregiving information

Medical and Medicare-related fields are parent-provided caregiving records for family coordination only. SplitParent does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. Sensitive health details you enter are stored with your family data and visible to authorised family members.

Biometric authentication

If you enable app lock with Face ID, Touch ID, or equivalent device biometrics, biometric checks are performed by your device operating system. SplitParent does not receive or store your biometric templates; we only receive a success/failure result from the device when unlocking the app.

Data Sharing

• Information entered into a family account is visible to authorised members of that family
• We do not sell personal information
• We do not share personal information for advertising or marketing

We may share data with trusted service providers only as required to operate the app.

Third-party processors

We use secure third-party providers, including:

• Supabase — authentication, database, file storage, and related backend services
• RevenueCat — subscription entitlement sync with Apple App Store / Google Play
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for subscriptions
• Push notification services (device/platform notification infrastructure)
• AI providers (such as OpenAI) — optional tone-rewrite suggestions when you use the AI tone helper

These providers process data only as necessary to deliver app functionality.

AI features and data use:

• When you use the tone helper, the draft text you submit may be securely processed by a third-party AI provider to generate a suggestion
• AI is used only for optional wording assistance
• AI suggestions are not legal, medical, or counselling advice
• Messages are not used for advertising or marketing
• AI suggestions are optional and can be ignored

Data Storage and retention

Data is stored securely using encrypted cloud infrastructure. Shared family records — including Agreements, signatures, PDFs, and activity history — are retained while needed to provide the service to remaining family members. Account-only data is removed or anonymised on deletion where practicable. Some authentication and security logs may be retained in deactivated form for fraud prevention and compliance.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, however no system can guarantee absolute security.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account in the app under Menu → Security → Delete account. If you choose to delete your SplitParent account:

• Your access to the app will be removed
• Your personal profile will be deactivated and anonymised
• Data that exists only for your account will be removed or anonymised where practicable

Because SplitParent is designed for shared co-parenting:

Certain shared records may be retained where they are connected to other family members’ accounts, including:

• Messages
• Shared expenses
• Custody entries
• Calendar events
• Reports and timeline history
• Agreements, signatures, PDFs, and audit history
• Documents or photos linked to shared records

Your name may remain associated with past records with a note such as “No longer active”. Some authentication records may be retained in deactivated form for security and fraud prevention.

Children's Data

SplitParent is intended for use by parents or legal guardians, not by children as primary users. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. Child profiles and related information are created and managed by a parent or guardian and used only to provide app functionality for family coordination.

• Child profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian
• Child information is used only to provide app functionality
• Parents or guardians control child data within the family account
